This website has been developed by three organisations: Oxford Civic Society which has led the project, Oxford Pedestrians Association and the Oxford group of the Ramblers.

Oxford Civic Society strives for the continuous improvement of Oxford as a wonderful city in which to live, work and relax. Appreciating the past, enjoying the present and pursuing a vision for the future are the fundamentals of its efforts. The Society is keen to promote walking as the best way for visitors and residents to appreciate the city. For more information, see www.oxcivicsoc.org.uk.

The Ramblers work to protect and expand the places people walk and promote walking for health and pleasure. Members join to meet new people or like walking independently with family and friends, are passionate about walkers’ access rights or simply love to stroll. For more information see www.ramblers-oxon.org.uk/Oxford.htm

Oxford Pedestrians Association works towards making Oxford a better place for people on foot. Their aims are: to promote walking as a means of travel and recreation; to campaign for the safety and convenience of pedestrians; to ensure that the interests of pedestrians are respected in transport planning and implementation.  For more information see www.oxpa.org.uk.
